Pastor
Pastor
R. A. Watson is a native of the
Republic
of
Panama
,
and a graduate of the Panama
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was the pastor in the City of
Panama
and the
Canal
Zone
before arriving to the United States.
Pastor
Watson has been a pastor of several churches, one in
Harrisburg,
one in Beaver Falls, and two in Erie, Pennsylvania.
While in Erie, Pennsylvania, he served as the moderator of the Lake Erie
Missionary Baptist Association, President of the Greater Erie
Interdenominational Ministers Alliance, Erie County Hispanic American
Council, Inc. and a member of the Erie O.I.C. Board Of Directors, associate director of the Interchurch Ministries of Northwester,
Pennsylvania. He has served
as a juvenile counselor, drug and alcohol counselor, adult probation
officer, parole officer, certified DUI instructor, and area vice
moderator of the Allegheny Union Baptist Association. Pastor Watson produced and directed the
“Zion
Time”, a TV Gospel program featuring the choirs of the
Beautiful
Zion
Baptist
Church, and a
radio broadcast, “The Hour of Victory”. Pastor Watson facilitated and participated in the Erie County
Prison Ministry and served as consultant to Afro-American and Hispanic
churches.
While
in
Beaver
Falls, Pennsylvania,
Pastor Watson served as chairman for the City of
Beaver
Fall Community Relations Committee
and vice president of the
Beaver
Valley
Chapter
of the National Association of Evangelicals. He was a member of the
Beaver
Falls
Ministerium and served as a member of the
Geneva
College
Minority Affairs Advisory Committee. He was trustee for the
Allegheny
Union
Baptist
Association
Building
Board. Pastor Watson was the
facilitator for the
Geneva
College
and Afro-American Pastor’s Dialogue of
Beaver
Falls.
While
in
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
Pastor Watson founded and pastured the Redeeming
Life
Christian
Fellowship
Baptist
Church
. He later founded and served as CEO of the Redeeming Life
Christian Fellowship Ministries International
(The Foreign Missions Ministry of the Church). Pastor Watson served as an instructor in the Pennsylvania Baptist
State Congress of Christian Education, Vice-president of the Central
Region Congress of Christian Education, member of the Board of Directors
of Christian Churches United, member of the interdenominational
Ministers Conference of Harrisburg, and served as a Vicinity and Dauphin
County adult probation officer and parole officer.
Pastor
Watson was recruited by members of the Southern Baptist
State
Convention of
Pennsylvania
and
South
Jersey
to lead
a commission in planting the first
Hispanic
Baptist
Church
in
Harrisburg
,
Pennsylvania
. He also served as a church planting instructor; certified
conflict manager; Church Staff Development and Management counselor; and
President of the Southern Baptist Pastor’s Conference of
Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania.
On
April
29, 2000
,
Pastor Watson was consecrated to the Office of Bishop, Presiding over 25
churches, pastors, ministers and ministries (orphanage, street children,
feeding children and church planting) in the
Republic
of
Kenya
and
Panama. Pastor Watson has ministered in
England, South
Korea, Kenya, Panama
and
Bermuda.
